October 30, 2008: ASHEVILLE REJECTS FILM FESTIVAL NOVEMBER 9 NEW TIME: 8:45PM NEUTRAL will be showing at the Asheville Rejects Film Festival, a unique fringe festival officially endorsed by Troma's Lloyd Kaufman. Our film is playing on their SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9 block, around 8:45 PM (note the time change), at Eyesore Studios (123b Roberts St./Next to the Wedge Gallery), along with other cool films and a concert from Dark Meat. Check out the festival site for more details. It's a really cool lineup including Flaming Lips' long-fabled Christmas on Mars and documentaries on two of our favorite subjects, pirate radio and Harry Potter. We're super proud to be part of it, and hope you can make it out! |
April 14, 2008: HEY!
Much to our pleasant surprise, NEUTRAL took the highest honor - the "Top Grit" - at last week's Indie Grits festival in Columbia, SC. Thanks to everyone who came to the screenings, and thanks to the jury for giving us our first award! In the spirit of celebration, we'll be working on a new and improved (and more frequently updated) website to keep track of further screenings and other events, so please come back.
Congratulations to all of NEUTRAL's cast, crew, friends, and fans. Have a cigar. And some grits.

See Neutral at Indie Grits! April 10 @ 8pm! The Nickelodeon Theatre in Columbia! Neutral is playing in competition at Columbia, SC's Indie Grits Festival, along with many other fine shorts and features from the Southeast that Ed Burns could only describe as "low-budg." We'll all be there... come say hi.

The Neutral world premiere will be on October 18 at the Fine Arts Theatre in Asheville, NC. Joe used the phrase "milk and cookies" in the e-mail he just sent me about it, soooo...uh, best get tix now. Also, we've just put up the EPK for the movie in PDF form.

Hi there. In the time since the last news update, we have driven across the country twice, not to mention starting and finishing production on our new movie, Neutral. Watch this space for announcements on the trailer and upcoming screenings. Grownups still isn't finished, and if you ask John about it, he'll mumble a lot and avoid the question. So I wouldn't bother if I were you. Love, John.

The June 28 screening was a big success. If you were there, drop us a line to let us know what you thought. We're also casting right now for male and female child actors ages 6-12, high school age males and females, and older men and women in their 30's, 40's, and 50's. We're looking for all levels of experience, so contact us if you think you'd be interested. We're also looking for FOOD DONATIONS for the month of August, when we will be filming.

There will be a screening of GROWNUPS on June 28 at the Fine Arts Theater in Asheville, NC. This is the best opportunity for people who missed the earlier screenings, because we don't have any other ones scheduled right now as our attention is going to move towards festivals soon. It's also an opportunity to be bombarded with information about our next project, NEUTRAL, and an opportunity to eat free candy. Free unless you count the $5 admission that goes 100% to our film budget.
Oh, and you should really watch this.
